Malaysia Seizes 30 Servers Containing AI Chips Valued at RM49.5 Million
On 28 October, Malaysia’s Customs Department announced the seizure of 30 servers containing advanced AI chips valued at nearly RM49.5 million at Kuala Lumpur International Airport’s Free Trade Zone. The shipment was allegedly declared as generic electronic components and was being transited for re-export without the required authorisation. Authorities are investigating the case, and the reported RM49.5 million is the estimated value of the seized equipment, not a fine or confirmed penalty.
